The Social, Motivation, and Achievement Research Team (SMART) exists: (1)  to promote an understanding of the triggers that energize and direct students' in-school behaviors; and (2)  to increase the extent to which young people are attracted to academic environments and scholastic activities. We will post updates on our activities, as well as the activities of practitioners and other researchers whose work complements our own efforts.
